A Wisconsin D.A. has taken an indefinite medical leave, after apologizing for sending inappropriate text messages to a victim of domestic abuse. The District attorney stated that he was “embarrassed” and “ashamed” and admitted his behavior was inappropriate but he had not “committed a crime.” Hmmm… wonder if the woman he sent the text messages to, felt the same after receiving a message that read “are you the kind of girl that likes secret contact with older married elected D.A.”I bet not.
This man who is elected to office has no business being on medical leave, in my opinion; he also has no business being an attorney in any capacity. Sure he is willing to go to therapy, but unwilling to step down. Apparently, he feels he has not broken any laws. He stated that his life’s work has been protecting the rights of victims of crime. Makes me wonder how many of those victims have been re-victimized by this elected official?
Wisconsin’s Governor has the power to remove the D.A. from office, after certain steps have been accomplished. It is my belief that this D.A. is hiding behind medical leave to avoid facing the consequences of his behavior.
